My client, a multidisciplinary firm delivering projects worldwide, is currently looking for a Design Manager with a minimum of 10 years experience to join their growing team at their Dubai office.

The successful individual will be responsible for overseeing and guiding the design process for a variety of architectural projects. This role requires a strong blend of leadership, creativity, and technical expertise to ensure the successful execution of design concepts and client satisfaction.

Design Manager requirements:

  • Bachelor's or Master's degree in Architecture or a related field
  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in architectural design, with a proven track record of managing complex projects and leading design teams.
  • Strong proficiency in design software (e.g., AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite), excellent design and visualization skills, and the ability to translate client needs into creative and functional design solutions.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of designers and architects.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to present ideas and engage with clients
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to address design challenges and find innovative solutions.
  • Professional licensure (e.g., AIA, RIBA) is preferred but not required

Key duties of the Design Manager will include but will not be limited to:

  • Design Leadership: Lead and inspire a team of architects and designers in the development of design concepts, ensuring alignment with client objectives and project requirements.
  • Project Management: Oversee all phases of design, from conceptualization through to completion, ensuring that projects are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest quality standards.
  • Client Interaction: Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, maintaining strong relationships and effectively communicating design ideas, progress, and changes.
  • Team Coordination: Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to integrate design elements with technical requirements and project constraints.
  • Quality Assurance: Review and critique design work to ensure it meets the firm's standards and regulatory requirements, providing constructive feedback and guidance.
  • Innovation and Trends: Stay abreast of industry trends, emerging technologies, and best practices to drive innovation in design and contribute to the firm's thought leadership.
  • Resource Management: Manage project resources, including budgets, timelines, and staffing, to optimize efficiency and effectiveness.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Ensure accurate and timely documentation of design processes, decisions, and changes, and provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
