Finance Director

Our client, a leading and long-established Heavy Machinery Business, is looking for a Finance Director to support the company through the next exciting phase of its growth journey. This business has a long history of success in its sector that has been underpinned by the development of a broad service offering which continues to grow. Due to this continued growth, there is a need to appoint an experienced FD to support and guide the business through this next period of exciting change.

Responsibilities include:

  • Manage day-to-day financial operations
  • Maintain and improve strong finance governance and financial control environment
  • Challenge commercial business areas to maximise opportunities and ensure accountability
  • Provide commercial & strategic support and decision-making across the business
  • Ensure the finance reporting is best in class, fully compliant and provides meaningful commentary for senior management
  • Strong support to the MD as part of a small senior management team in driving business growth

Experience Includes:

  • Qualified accountant (ACA/ACCA/CIMA)
  • Experience in Heavy machinery Sales & Distribution business or similar
  • Technically very strong but also strong commercial awareness
  • Of an inquisitive nature to ensure you can identify areas of improvement and offer solutions
  • Confident and clear communicator with an ability to support senior management
  • Thrives in an environment of change
  • experience as a reliable Right Hand person to MD

The successful candidate will be a qualified accountant and thrives in an environment of change. You will be a hands on and approachable finance team player, with a dedication to ensuring the finance function is working at its best. You will be an ambitious and driven self-starter, with outstanding communication and interpersonal skills. You will also be experienced in an SME but have the gravitas to represent the business on a commercial/corporate scale, reporting into European Parent Organisation.
