Senior HR Advisor

I am working with one of the UK's largest equipment rental companies to support them with their search for a HR Advisor to join them on temporary contract until September 2025.

You will assist the HR Manager and Head of HR to provide a proactive and effective HR service across all division of the business. As a HR Advisor, you will provide advice, guidance and support to managers and employees on all employee related matters including discipline, grievance, capability, absence management and HR policies and procedures. This is a fast-paced, high-volume role working across 10 Divisions and you will be responsible for ensuring that the best advice and support is provided to General Managers, Senior Managers, and employees, on all aspects of employee relations.

The bulk of the requirements for this role are Employee Relations based and make up the majority of the case load of the working week.

Working as a part of a high-performing team, you will build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders across the business ensuring that their support and advisory needs are met. You will work closely with the Recruitment and Learning & Development teams to ensure that we continue to deliver a first-class service to the business.

  • Hours: Monday-Friday 9am-5pm - (36.25 hours per week) - Flexible working arrangements available with early finishes on Fridays
  • Salary: Between £34,000-£40,000 per annum / £17.00per hour - £20.00 per hour (depending on experience)
  • Location: Glasgow - Hybrid working

Skills and experience required for HR Advisor:

  • Recent and proven experience working in a fast-paced HR role, operating across multi-sites preferably within a similar sized organisation.
  • Experience of managing high volume disciplinary, grievance, capability, and absence issues
  • Previous demonstrable experience of coaching and guiding Managers to effectively deal with HR issues.
  • Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage competing priorities effectively.
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of Employment law particularly relating to contract, terms and conditions, discrimination, and maternity/paternity queries.
  • An effective communicator, both written and verbally, with the ability to engage with internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team to achieve results.
  • Proficient in MS Office packages including Excel and Word is essential.
  • Experience of tribunal processes would be advantageous.
