Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting on behalf of a Client in the Public Sector for a motivated and skilled Planner to join a vibrant Council's Planning Department in Central London.
This is a full time, temporary, ongoing role offering up to £30 per hour Umbrella LTD Inside IR35.
**Purpose of the Job:
The role aims to facilitate the development of professional skills, knowledge, and work experience in planning, within a supportive and educational environment. The successful candidate will play a crucial part in driving forward the planning agenda of the council.
**Key Responsibilities:
Participation in Development Programme:
- Engage in the Council's Planning Department Development Programme.
- Support staff in a collaborative learning environment to develop professional skills, knowledge, and practical experience in planning.
Collaboration and Networking:
- Establish and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues within the council and planners throughout London.
- Collaborate with transport, environment, and planning professionals, along with professional associations, to advance the council's improvement agenda.
- Lead personal projects with managerial support, ensuring timely and relevant outputs.
Project and Stakeholder Management:
- Work closely with local partners, stakeholders, and various council departments to identify and manage project opportunities that align with the Council's key objectives.
- Contribute to the determination of planning applications, the preparation and implementation of planning policies, and other related activities.
Team Coordination and Client Engagement:
- Collaborate with teams of professional officers to deliver high-quality projects that cater to the needs of diverse clients, including the Cabinet, committees, steering groups, other council teams, and elected members.
**Requirements:
- Expertise: Comprehensive understanding of urban planning and regeneration issues in a major city context, with insight into how town planning can address these challenges.
- Experience: Proven experience in a fast-paced planning service, including staff development and project management responsibilities.
