SEND Maths Teacher

Tradewind Recruitment is currently looking for a PRU to join a secondary alternative provision in Tameside catering for pupils aged 11-16 with SEMH needs.

This is a part-time temporary teaching role from September onwards.

The Role

Maths teacher or SEND teacher with experience of KS2 and KS3 maths

Three days a week - Tuesday, Wednesday Thursday

You will be teaching children aged 11-16 who all have an EHCP for Social, Emotional or Mental Health needs as well as associated obstacles to learning such as Autism, ADHD and SpLD.

Due to the nature of the pupils, they are looking for a teacher who is passionate, energetic and resilient while also being able to motivate and engage hard to reach young people.

Pupils are at KS3 & 4 age although they are working at much lower levels than expected for their age.

You will be required to teach across the curriculum and differentiate for the individual needs, levels and behaviours of each pupil.

The school welcome applications from experienced secondary teachers or FE qualified specialist SEN teachers.

They focus on safety, inclusion and holistic outcomes while striving for each pupil to reach their full potential.

To join us and be successful in this Secondary Alternative Provision Teacher role, you will need to:

  • Hold QTS Status or QTLS or an equivalent Further education teaching qualification such as PGCE Special Needs or Certificate of Education
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work full time in the UK
