Morgan McKinley is working with a growing company based in Horsham, West Sussex who is looking for an Assistant Accountant to join their busy Finance team. The Assistant Accountant will be carrying out everyday transactional accounting duties, month end prep, analysis and fixed asset reporting. This role is ideal for someone who is ideally ACCA / CIMA part qualified, looking to utilise their existing accounting skills.
Salary: £35-40K
Location: Horsham, West Sussex - Mon-Thurs office based, Fridays from home
Hours: 9-5
Assistant Accountant duties:
- Processing purchase invoices and preparing the monthly payment run for suppliers
- Accounts receivable monitoring - following up outstanding debt with customers
- Update and maintaining cash flow
- Preparing and issuing Statements of Account for customers
- Assisting in clearing account and inventory reconciliations
- Fixed asset reporting
- Preparation of month end management accounts
- Balance sheet reconciliations
- Monitor and record office expenditures and process business expenses
Skills and experience:
- Proven Accounting experience, working as a; Finance Assistant / Accounts Assistant / Assistant Accountant type role
- Ideally be part qualified CIMA / ACCA
- Excellent communication skills both verbally and written
- Good IT skills - MS Excel and accounting systems such as; QuickBooks, Xero etc
