Junior Interior Designer

We are seeking a talented Interior Designer to join our clients an award-winning interior design studio to work on projects both in London and the UAE. They are rapidly expanding their team in London due to the increase in projects and the company's future growth plans. This is why this position in the first instance will be working from home until next year when the procurement of their London office has been completed.

They are looking for someone with a strong background in residential projects dealing with developers.

This is an exciting opportunity for someone looking to grow their career and work on projects both in the UK and GCC.

The successful Junior Interior Designer will be offered:

Junior Interior Designer requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in interior design or related field.
  • Proven experience as an intern or junior designer in interior design, preferably in a design firm or architectural practice.
  • Strong background in residential projects dealing with developers
  • Excellent understanding of design principles, colour theory, spatial awareness, and material selection.
  • Strong proficiency in design software, including AutoCAD, SketchUp, Adobe Creative Suite, and other relevant tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and a keen eye for aesthetics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills.
  • A creative mindset with a passion for interior design and a desire to learn and grow in the field
  • Knowledge of local building codes, regulations, and industry standards related to residential design is a plus.

The key responsibilities of the Junior Interior Designer:

  • Assist in the design process for projects, including conceptual development, space planning, and selection of materials and finishes.
  • Collaborate with senior designers and architects to create design presentations and mood boards that effectively communicate design concepts.
  • Conduct research on design trends, materials, and furnishings to support project development and enhance design proposals.
  • Prepare detailed drawings, specifications, and presentations using design software such as AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Adobe Creative Suite.
  • Support the project management team in coordinating with contractors and vendors to ensure that design specifications are met during the implementation phase.
  • Assist in site visits and client meetings to gather feedback, understand client needs, and ensure alignment with design objectives.
  • Maintain project documentation, including budgets, timelines, and material samples, to ensure smooth project execution.
  • Participate in design critiques and team meetings to contribute ideas and receive constructive feedback on design work.
  • Stay up to date with industry trends, materials, and technologies to continuously improve design skills and knowledge.
  • Contribute to the overall creative process by brainstorming innovative design solutions and approaches.
