We are seeking a meticulous and dedicated Data Administrator for our Accounting & Finance department in the retail industry. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring the accurate and efficient management of data within the department.

Client Details

Our client is a large retail company operating across the UK. They employ over a thousand individuals and pride themselves on their commitment to providing excellent customer service and high-quality products.

Description

To assist in the day to day workings of the management accounts department, offering support in all areas. With a focus on data validation in readiness for the introduction of new accounting software.

Adhere to all Company and Group internal and external deadlines.

Communication

Maintain good relationships with all colleagues, both internally and Group.

To keep the Finance Manager aware, in a timely manner, of developments/issues affecting the smooth operation of the Finance Department.

Gather and validate data from existing software for transfer onto a new ERP system. Whilst working within given deadlines.

Offering support and involved in the month end procedure across all functions to include:

Sales Ledger: Working alongside the sales ledger team, during busy periods.

Validating customer and sales data and preparing files for upload to the new software

Purchase Ledger: Working alongside the purchase ledger team, during busy periods.

Validating supplier and purchasing data and preparing files for upload to the new software

Nominal Ledger: Involvement within all areas, to include bank, asset, stock, overheads and foreign exchange.

Confirming and validating balance transfers and preparing files for upload to the new software

Profile

A successful Data Administrator should have:

  • A degree in a relevant field, such as Information Technology, Business Administration, or Accounting.
  • Proficiency in using data management software and tools.
  • Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work collaboratively in a team.
  • A commitment to maintaining data confidentiality and security.
