Howarth Timber are seeking a motivated and tech-savvy individual to join our team as a Cyber Security and Infrastructure Apprentice.

This apprenticeship is designed to provide hands-on experience and training in the fields of cyber security, server management and networking. Over the course of 3½ years you will have the opportunity to develop your commercial IT skills and knowledge and contribute to the success of the business.

As part of this role, we will strive to support you as you work towards achieving a BSc (Hons) Digital and Technology Solutions Degree Apprenticeship whilst acquiring useful work experience along the way.

Salary: £20,000 per annum.

Duties:
As a Cyber Security and Infrastructure Apprentice, you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting in the implementation and maintenance of the IT Infrastructure
  • Developing and applying cyber security measures to protect the Group's systems and data
  • Supporting the development, deployment, and routine maintenance of the network infrastructure
  • Participating in the development, delivery, and management of virtual servers and applications
  • Collaborating with team members to identify and mitigate potential risks to Hardware, Software and Data
  • Learning and applying industry best practices, (ITIL & ITSM), to ensure the security and reliability of the Business IT systems

Drive, location not duties:
Please Note - Being able to drive is preferred but not essential as long as you are within an hour commute.

Entry requirements
A Level 3 qualification in a relevant area in any grade. Acceptable qualifications include:

  • Two A levels in one or more similar subject.*
  • Level 3 apprenticeship in a similar subject.
  • International Baccalaureate at Level 3 in a similar subject.
  • BTEC Extended Diploma in a similar subject.
  • A work experience route (2-3 years) in a similar subject-related role.
  • 'Similar subject' relates to areas directly relevant to or commensurate with 'Digital and Technology Solutions'. Typically this would be areas such as but not limited to Level 3 digital apprenticeships, A-Level/BTEC Computer Science, Information Technology, Networking, Software Engineering, etc.

Please note: Learners must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level than this apprenticeship in a similar subject.
