Finance Management & Systems Accountant - Wimborne - £55,000

Finance Management & Systems Accountant required for a Manufacturing business based in the Wimborne area. You will be supported by a finance team including the Assistant Management Accountant and will have 4 reports.

You will be responsible for preparing quarterly management accounts and other schedules and analysis. In addition, you will contribute to the development of systems and processes as they migrate to a new ERP upgrade. You will develop a close working relationship with the Company's ERP Project Manager and will need to possess strong communication skills and work closely with colleagues around the business to support the development of more integrated business processes. Excellent double-entry bookkeeping skills along with advanced Excel skills are necessary, plus a cultural commitment to deadlines and an ability to contribute to the development of systems and controls.

Key duties:-

  • Preparation of monthly sales and cash flow report
  • Preparation of quarterly management accounts, including consolidation of production stock information and balance sheet control account reconciliations
  • Support annual budget preparation currently undertaken by the FD
  • Annual audit liaison, review draft Statutory Accounts and approve key disclosures
  • Maintenance of nominal ledger integrity, including month-end close processes
  • Assisting ERP Project Manager with ERP system implementation
  • Recruitment and appraisals for finance staff

Qualifications and experience:-

  • ACCA or CIMA finalist or qualified
  • Experience in a manufacturing environment is necessary
  • Experience of Management Accounting essential
  • Excellent bookkeeping (double entry) knowledge is vital to be effective in this role
  • Advanced Excel and Word is necessary - Pivot Tables, charts and V-look ups, X-look ups, IF functions, SUMIFs etc.
  • Ability to develop and deploy BAQs and Dashboards in ERP systems
  • Experience of international trade and multi-currency environments useful
  • Good written, oral communication and inter-personal skills are essential
  • Must be numerate, methodical, and be able to work efficiently to resolve queries which can be complex
  • Good planning skills to organise work so deadlines can be met
  • Must be flexible and dynamic to respond effectively to changes in circumstances
