Democratic Services Apprentice

This role has a starting salary of £21,474 per annum, based on a 36 hour working week.

We are excited to be hiring a new apprentice to join our fantastic Democratic Services team, based at the County Council headquarters, Woodhatch Place, in Reigate. This is a 15-18 month fixed term contract and you will be fully supported and mentored through your apprenticeship and will be given time, whilst at work, to complete your coursework with a dedicated assessor.

About the Team

Roles within Democratic Services will put you at the heart of the Council, as the team support the council's 81 Members and ensures the decision-making processes, governance and scrutiny of the Council are efficient and effective. During your apprenticeship you will have the opportunity to work alongside members and council officers, provide administrative support functions and attend formal and informal meetings.

A great opportunity has arisen for an energetic apprentice to join the Democratic Services Team within Surrey County Council, supporting committee managers, elected members (councillors) and officers in their roles.

You will get the opportunity to work alongside colleagues in Democratic Services and receive guidance and support from a fun and friendly team as well as having a network of like-minded apprentices to lean on. This is a varied role and you will have the chance to make it your own, whilst we will provide you with all the knowledge and training you require to be successful. The work you do will reinforce your learning, providing evidence-based experiences to support your qualification.
