We are seeking a dedicated Electrical Engineering Technician to join our team, providing essential support across all campuses when required. The role encompasses a blend of instructional and technical duties, including equipment maintenance, stock control, and contributing to the educational and assessment experience for learners and teachers. The ideal candidate will have relevant qualifications or industrial experience, be adept at working under pressure, and possess excellent communication skills.

Day to Day of the role:

  • Instruct and demonstrate practical skills within the subject area for up to 15 hours per week.
  • Assist lecturers in supervising and assessing learners' practical skills.
  • Perform technician duties, including equipment maintenance, stock control, and preparation of assessment areas.
  • Act as a designated first aider and contribute to the risk assessment process.
  • Liaise with colleagues on learner welfare, schemes of work, and assessment.
  • Maintain high standards of learner behaviour and assist with learner recruitment and record-keeping.
  • Undertake additional duties as required, including compliance with College policies and participation in staff meetings and development programs.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Relevant Level 3 qualification in the subject area or sufficient industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated suitability to work with children and vulnerable adults.
  • Ability to organise, plan, and prioritise work.
  • Computer literacy, particularly in Microsoft Word, Access, and Excel.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development.
  • Understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding issues.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to new situations and requirements.
