Teaching Assistant

Posted by Horizon Teachers.

Horizon Teachers are working with a central London Primary school helping in their search for an experienced Teaching Assistant. This school is committed to providing high-quality education for their students, fostering a safe and nurturing environment, and promoting a love of learning.

This is a unique role where you will have the opportunity to be a general teaching assistant across EYFS and Key Stage 1 classes in the mornings and support a child in Key Stage 1 on a 1:1 basis in the afternoons.

If you have a varied background in Primary or SEN education and are keen to take on a role where you get to do a bit of both, this is the ideal role for you!

What will your main responsibilities be?

  • Support teachers in delivering effective and engaging lessons across a variety of classrooms.
  • Work with a child on a 1:1 basis with challenging behaviour, building a relationship and understanding their needs and abilities.
  • Assist with classroom management and behaviour management strategies.
  • Prepare and set up learning materials and resources.
  • Encourage a positive and inclusive classroom atmosphere.
  • Supervise students during break times and outings.
  • Help maintain a clean and organised classroom environment.

Why work with Horizon Teachers?

  • Very competitive rates and we pay the permanent equivalent after 12 weeks at the school.
  • A team of specialist education consultants with many years of experience and including many ex-teachers.
  • Earn up to £300 in vouchers of your choice for successful referrals.
  • We are one of the highest rated agencies with 4.8* Google rating from teachers, support staff and schools we have helped.

"I am so pleased I went with Horizon teachers over all other education agencies out there because of their personal service. They are caring and supportive and really stay true to their words."
