Procurement Manager

  • Working Pattern: Hybrid (Travel to Swindon area every other month, and ad-hoc travel across the UK, with occasional travel to Europe)

Your new company
I am currently working with a growing Renewables organisation that are establishing a solid foundation in the UK and although their UK standing is still fairly young, they are growing at exponential rates and have a strong foundation across Europe. This is an exciting time to be joining both the sector and the organisation, with a chance to shape the role and assist wider business functions.

Your new role
The Procurement Manager position will sit under the Senior Procurement Manager. You'll be working on multiple projects at a time and working from cradle to grave on discovery, tender and delivery. Working mainly within the construction category, you'll be working with a wide range of suppliers and managing spend of up to £50m and more.

Main responsibilities include:

  • Lead and manage day-to-day procurement from initiation to completion, aligned to project goals.
  • Work closely with the global procurement team to collaborate with key suppliers and market information, as well as maintain a consistent approach.
  • Take lead on contract negotiations alongside contract managers and the commercial teams
  • Work with internal business stakeholders, such as; sales, engineering, projects and H&S to gather requirements and resolve issues
  • Help to identify and mitigate project / commercial risks
  • Maintain overview of procurement status, price, savings, negotiations and deliverables across several projects at a time
  • Ensure the provision of detailed documentation
  • Support on the logistics, supplier variation and order front

What you'll need to succeed

  • Either a relevant degree, qualifications, membership or procurement relevant experience
  • Working across multiple projects at a time (ideally project management experience)
  • Experience of running (direct) procurement tenders and processes
  • Experience in construction or technical procurement is desirable.
  • A proactive mindset, with the ability to work autonomously and as a team
  • Negotiation and influencing skills in relation to supplier management
  • Internal / external stakeholder management skills
