Position Overview:

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Teaching Assistant to join our team. As a Teaching Assistant at this Special School, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEN in their educational and personal development. Your passion for education and your commitment to making a positive difference in the lives of these exceptional young individuals will be highly valued.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist classroom teachers in planning and delivering engaging lessons that cater to the diverse needs of our students.
  • Provide one-on-one or small group support to students with SEN, ensuring they have access to the curriculum and the opportunity to progress.
  • Foster a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes social and emotional development.
  • Assist with the implementation of individualized education plans (IEPs) and behavior management strategies.
  • Collaborate with the teaching team and other professionals to assess student progress and adapt teaching methods accordingly.
  • Support students during activities, including personal care and physical activities as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

  • A genuine passion for working with children with special educational needs.
  • Relevant experience in a similar role is desirable, but not essential.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, empathy, and the ability to build positive relationships with students.
  • A commitment to promoting a safe and inclusive learning environment.
