Academics is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic PSD (Personal, Social, and Development) Teacher to join a dynamic Pupil Referral Unit (PRU) in Chesterfield. This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced educator to work in a supportive environment where every day is unique and rewarding.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Delivering engaging and effective PSD lessons tailored to the needs of pupils.
  • Developing and implementing individual education plans (IEPs) for students.
  • Working collaboratively with other staff members to provide holistic support.
  • Managing classroom behaviour and fostering a positive learning environment.
  • Monitoring and assessing students' progress and adapting teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Supporting students in developing social skills, emotional resilience, and personal growth.

Requirements:

  • Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Experience working in a PRU or similar setting is highly desirable.
  • Strong understanding of PSD curriculum and strategies for supporting students with challenging behaviour.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students.
  • Commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
