Your new role
The accountant will play a crucial role in ensuring the accuracy and compliance of financial records, supporting strategic initiatives, and facilitating effective communication between various business units and the finance function. This role requires strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and the ability to work under tight deadlines to meet reporting requirements and support business growth strategies. The accountant will report to the Finance Manager and act as a critical link in maintaining financial integrity and supporting the organization's financial health.

P/Qualified CIMA / ACCA; OR AAT Finisher
4 years industry experience +

This role will report to the Finance Manager. Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate month end balance sheet reporting for Direct and Indirect channel including inter-company and cash balances reconciliation within agreed deadlines.
  • Monthly Indirect Channel income statement actual and forecasts submissions to group within agreed deadlines, with supporting analysis and commentary required for monthly reviews with group function.
  • Business Partnering with the Indirect Channel to support business strategy and growth.
  • Budget preparation and submission for Indirect Channel.
  • Fixed assets management ensuring compliance with group and local accounting standards: accurate and timely assets capitalisation, monthly depreciation, and disposal reporting, as well as budget submission, and monitoring of actuals vs budget.
  • Stock records management ensuring correct cost of sales and inventory reporting.
  • Monthly prepayments/accruals reconciliation and recognition in income statements.
  • Bank reconciliation for all business accounts.
  • Monthly VAT reconciliation and support with quarterly VAT reporting, ensuring accuracy and compliance.
  • Support finance function in driving process improvements with focus on compliance and efficiency within the business.
  • Any other duties as assigned by the Manager
  • Experience in accounting functionsSolid understanding of basic accounting and tax principlesGood knowledge of Microsoft Office (Excel at the Intermediate level)Able to build effective working relationships with a range of internal and external stakeholders.

Organised and structured with good attention to detail, and a "can do" attitude. Good written and verbal communication skills Highly motivated and self-driven with the ability to work to strict deadlines. Strong problem-solving skills. Able to 'bring people with them' when implementing change. Good interpersonal and influencing skills
Useful if you have experience of ERP environments and consolidation tools and principles and Experience in Power BI and dashboard creation
