£25,000 - £28,000 (FTE) | URGENT | Full-time OR Part-time

Reed Accountancy is urgently recruiting on behalf of a prestigious organisation in Belfast city centre, for an experienced Temporary Payroll Officer for a period of six months with possible extension.

Centrally based and with free parking, this is an excellent opportunity to work in a beautiful & unique office environment as part of an established and friendly team. All applicants must have at least two years' previous experience in payroll processing. *Our client is open to both full-time and part-time experienced applicants.

The role:

Responsible for the accurate and efficient processing of 1 weekly payroll and 1 monthly payroll involving:

  • Review of weekly and monthly payroll input
  • Review of payroll output reports and liaison with external payroll bureau
  • Liaise with the HR Department regarding Terms & Conditions, policies, and procedures etc.
  • Maintenance of accurate records
  • Reconciliation of payments for PAYE, NIC, DC Scheme pension contributions and other statutory deductions on a monthly basis
  • Performing manual calculations
  • Preparation of control account reconciliations on a monthly basis
  • Provision of payroll information and reports to the Financial Controller and Departmental Managers
  • Assisting the Payroll Manager in the preparation of year-end reports
  • Dealing with queries
  • Liaison with external and internal auditors
  • Review and process employee expenses claims
  • Providing general Finance Administration within the finance team

Essential Criteria:

  • 2+ years end to end payroll experience
  • Ability to calculate manual payments
  • Up to date knowledge and understanding of payroll and pension legislation within the UK
  • Strong IT skills and a proven ability to use and adapt quickly to new technology
  • Strong planning and organisational skills
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Proactive, confident, positive, professional and someone who takes initiative and pride in what they do
