Financial Reporting Manager

Large, growing well known business FTSE business based near Manchester Airport seeks a Financial Reporting Manager. This is a permanent role.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Reporting the key activities of this role are to deliver the Annual and Interim report's to a FTSE quality, along with multiple sets of statutory entity accounts, all supported by an extremely capable team of qualified chartered accountants.

Liaison with senior stakeholders across the group including C-suite, Audit committee, communications and social media teams, divisional FD's and MD's and CSR team in order to prepare FTSE quality external reporting.

You will manage a small team and plays a leading role in technical accounting for the group, by authoring technical accounting papers on specific issues and delivering technical accounting training from time to time.

Day to day activities of this role include:

  • Complete Annual and Internal reports
  • Ensure statutory compliance with the groups multiple statutory entities
  • Drive adherence to standards and technical accounting across the group
  • Key liaison between the audit and all other members of finance to ensure a clean opinion
  • Provide complete, accurate and timely IFRS guidance. Maintain a strong knowledge base utilising this to evaluate potential impact on the group Accounts and identifying appropriate accounting treatments.
  • Provide on-going accounting support to divisional finance teams / FP&A / commercial teams to ensure any accounting implications are factored into any commercial decisions appraisals and impact on reporting is understood - with options where possible to be presented.
  • Provide independent review and challenge around Balance Sheet reporting for the Group on a periodic basis.
  • Ensure that appropriate and relevant finance policies and procedures are in place across all areas of external reporting
  • Continuously review and develop finance processes and procedures to streamline and automate to improve efficiency
  • Ensure that internal and external audit recommendations are implemented in accordance with agreed timescales.

The right candidate for the role will be:

  • ACA/ACCA qualified
  • Have experience of working within Audit
  • Be technically strong with IRFS/Stautory Year End
  • Be looking for hybrid work and the opportunity to gain some excellent corporate experience.
