Are you an experienced Procurement Manager with a passion for driving value through savings and improving supply chain efficiencies? Our client, a leading organisation in the transportation industry, is seeking a skilled Procurement Manager to join their team. As a Procurement Manager, you will play a vital role in advancing the business and modernising the UK's railway system.

Responsibilities:

  • Lead the entire tender process for specified projects, ensuring compliance with UCR16 and the Procurement Act.
  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders to develop future tender plans and enhance requirements specifications and performance mechanisms.
  • Propose appropriate terms and conditions for purchasing/procurement requirements.
  • Support cross-organisation tendering, contract negotiations, and supply chain management initiatives.
  • Mitigate project risks related to safety, information security, and GDPR through careful contract drafting.
  • Keep the Procurement Information Manager updated on project progress and contract status.
  • Effectively communicate and engage with stakeholders throughout the procurement process.
  • Provide guidance on procurement procedures, processes, and governance to achieve project objectives.
  • Conduct market research and develop new or existing suppliers to meet the business's operational needs.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners to determine project budgets and authorisations for new contracts.
  • Assist in organising necessary forums to share knowledge, information, and best practises across IT and Indirect categories.

Requirements:

  • Qualified member of the Chartered Institute of Purchasing and Supply (MCIPS) or equivalent transferrable degree/professional qualification.
  • Minimum of three (3) years of accountable experience in procurement, commercial or contract management in an Indirect/IT environment.
  • Working knowledge of contract law, GDPR, UCR16 regulations, and upcoming Procurement Act.
  • Experience with Government Frameworks and Dynamic Purchasing Systems.
  • Proficiency in procure-to-pay systems and processes.
  • Some experience in post-contract contract management.
  • Strong understanding of contractual documentation and governance requirements.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills and experience.
  • Proficient in market engagement and supply chain planning.
