An excellent opportunity has arisen for a Process Improvement Engineer to join their fast growing team.
The ideal candidate will ideally come from a similar manufacturing background (castings), with proven experience in minimising internal and external scrap.
Role Description
Key Responsibilities:
- To minimise internal and external scrap
- Ubiquitous pursuit for development and methodology of parameters that produce sound castings.
- Pioneer design modifications needed to enhance the quality, reduce lead time, tooling and manufacturing costs.
- Maintain calibration of simulation software and measurement tools
- Develop and maintain 'right first time and everytime' culture
- Advance and support operational methodology of simulation software
- Co-ordinate and maintain QC systems according to VFL quality management
- Reduce cost of manufacturing and eliminate re-working
- Be a role model for the department to influence positive change
- Mentor employees with potential and passion for learning
Skills and Qualifications
- Experience within a Process Engineer role within a similar casting manufacturing environment, ideally a heavier background
- Proven experience in reducing internal and external scrap
- Able to optimise methods of manufacturing tooling/rigging
- Able to update and maintain NPI
- Able to liaise with customers, machinists, subcontract tooling engineers and pattern-shops
