Summary

Being a Visitor Experience Officer for the National Trust is all about people – connecting with them, inspiring them, and making sure they have the best possible day when they come to visit.

If you love working with all kinds of people, and you're excited by the Trust's cause – to protect and care for places so that people and nature can thrive – then this could be the job for you.

This role is based on annualised hours, where the amount of hours you work each month may vary, however your salary will be paid in equal instalments , though the hours and days worked will differ from summer to winter.

What it's like to work here

You'll be reporting to the Senior Visitor Experience Officer at Chedworth Roman Villa.

Leading the way in archaeology and conservation, Chedworth provides a unique insight into life during the Roman period in Britain. It is well known for its stunning mosaics, bath houses and hypocaust systems.

What you'll be doing

As Visitor Experience Officer, your main focus will be on providing a great service for visitors. With your team, you'll be welcoming people and inspiring them to really get to know Chedworth Roman Villa. This might include devising and running events and activities, and creating interpretive displays and other ways of bringing the place, and its stories, to life for everyone who comes here.

You'll be sharing with others your love for your work and the place itself. You might be encouraging visitors to take a closer look at the archaeology or precious artefacts at the Villa. You might be supervising and supporting volunteers and organising rotas. You're likely to be checking standards of presentation on site and will be one of the Chedworth Duty Managers.
