Finance Assistant

A specialist technology company in the Guildford area is looking to recruit a Finance Assistant into their friendly finance team. This is a replacement for a long server who is retiring at the end of the year, and reports directly to the Group Financial Controller, who you will work closely with while also supporting the wider department.

What will the Finance Assistant role involve?

  • Process purchase invoices (200 pcm) and credit notes, pay suppliers, maintain a clean and tidy purchase ledger.
  • Process employee expenses (40 pcm) and reimburse employees, manage SAP Concur online account.
  • Process all incoming bank transactions, provide holiday cover for other transactions.
  • Monitor and update billing software.
  • Produce sales invoices (50 pcm) and maintain sales ledger.
  • Credit control – issue statements and copy invoices, join debtors meeting, update control sheet.

Suitable Candidate for the Finance Assistant vacancy:

  • Recent experience in purchase ledger or sales ledger, ideally both.
  • Exposure to multi-currency invoices and payments (essential).
  • Team player with a collaborative, ‘can do' attitude and common sense who is happy to cover for other team members.
  • Knowledge of at least 2 accounting packages, with intermediate Excel skills (formulae, VLOOKUP).
  • AAT studier / AAT qualified / relevant degree (desirable).
