Willsons Solicitors have an enviable reputation and have a wonderful team of 40 + staff across their departments in Family, Care, Civil, Wills and Probate, Conveyancing and Commercial Law.
Due to their continued expansion, they are currently looking to recruit an experienced Paralegal within the Family and Care department who is keen to learn and in the future take on their own case load.
To fulfil the requirements of this position the individual would need to be confident in the following:
Essential
- Preparation of legal aid applications for funding in Public/ and Private law proceedings and have knowledge of the CCMS system
- Be able to draft C100; C2, and comprehensive letters and briefs to counsel
- Be able to use their own initiative
- Diary management
- Experience using a case management system
- Ensure all files are up to date with emails, time recording and file notes
- Experience of working at a fast pace when urgent matters arise
- Experience typing
- Deal with telephone calls which can sometimes be with distressed clients.
- Must have empathy for clients and their situations and possess excellent client care ability.
Desirable
- knowledge of drafting Part 25 applications
- knowledge of creating bundles for 16.4 children's proceedings
- Experience with Care Proceedings and the procedures.
