Part Time Mini Bus Driver

We are hiring for the position of Minibus Driver for our client based in Reigate. Due to the nature of the hours, this role would a suit semi-retired person, or someone happy to work a couple of hours in the morning and afternoons with the day time free. This is a part-time, permanent position with flexible hours during term time. The role involves picking up and dropping off pupils from the Dorking area to Reigate and visa versa in the afternoon.

Responsibilities:

  • Drive a school vehicle in a responsible and competent manner.
  • Ensure the safety, comfort, and welfare of the pupils and staff onboard.
  • Report any vehicle defects, faults, incidents, accidents, and prosecutions.
  • Keep the vehicles clean and in roadworthy condition.
  • Refuel vehicles as required.
  • Maintain a professional and presentable appearance at all times.
  • Adhere to health and safety guidelines and other relevant instructions.
  • Take responsibility for the health and safety of the vehicle and users.

Required skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 2 years of clean driving licence.
  • Possession of a current, clean, and valid driving licence D1 unrestricted or a PCV licence or D1 restricted (car licence obtained prior to 01/01/1997).
  • Age 25 or above for insurance purposes.
  • Ability to maintain accurate vehicle and user records.
  • Friendly and approachable demeanour.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Patient and able to work well with others.
  • Willingness to undertake additional training to enhance the services delivered by our client.

No previous experience in this field is required and we welcome applicants from various backgrounds, but it would be beneficial if you have previously worked with children.
