Bid Manager

I am recruiting for a Bid Manager to take ownership of all bid writing within a highly successful, long established SME in the Ayrshire area. A key part of this role will also be to lead on the quality aspects of tender submissions to enhance success. This role may suit someone who is looking for the next stage in their career or someone who is seeking a flexible opportunity closer to home.

This is an exciting role in that the successful candidate has the flexibility to progress and manage the role using their existing experience. The client is a key player in the construction industry and pride themselves in the work that they do in the public and private sector.

If you have an interest in social media and marketing activities, this could also be incorporated as part of the role but the main focus will be supporting the directors with bid writing.

Candidates should be:

  • Excellent communicators with the ability to implement new ideas
  • Proficient in Adobe InDesign, Adobe Acrobat Pro, PowerPoint, Adobe Lightroom, and Adobe Illustrator or similar software.
  • Skilled at written presentations with the ability to prepare bespoke quality submission responses for each tender
  • Able to work as part of a team with Construction Managers and Directors to ensure high-scoring and quality tender submissions
  • Self-disciplined and works on own initiative to ensure deadlines are met but the quality is not compromised
  • Be instrumental in the preparation and submission of Pre-Qualification Questionnaires and technical bid submissions
  • Be involved in the preparation of the assessment of tendering opportunities to upload in portals such as Public Contracts Scotland and PCS-Tender
  • Be involved in designing and updating project description templates
  • Be involved with community benefits and sustainability delivery

About you

You will have a successful track record in preparing and winning bids. You will be adaptable and enjoy working across multiple sectors and be passionate about business development with a hands on approach.

The role is full time 37.5 Mon - Fri role which offers start and finish time flexibility and a hybrid opportunity.
