Day-to-day of the role:
- Lead the Geography department for KS4, ensuring excellence in teaching and learning practices.
- Develop and implement a stimulating Geography curriculum that engages and challenges students.
- Promote a culture of high expectations and academic excellence within the department.
- Encourage student participation in geographical research, fieldwork, and extracurricular activities.
- Monitor and support the progress and achievement of students within the department.
- Build a collaborative team environment, fostering strong relationships between staff and students.
- Contribute to the school's wider community through extracurricular programmes and events.
- Engage in ongoing professional development through weekly coaching sessions and a tailored CPD programme.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Qualified Teacher Status with experience in teaching the UK Geography curriculum.
- A strong passion for Geography and a desire to inspire this in students.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to manage and develop a successful Geography department.
