Robertson Bell are partnering with this social housing provider as they go to market for a Service Charge Officer on a permanent basis. In this Service Charge Officer role, you will:

  • Spearhead a critical project investigating cost recovery across 30 high-rise properties, analysing costs and their relation to service charges.
  • Manage the service charge setting process for a designated portfolio of properties, ensuring accuracy and compliance with legislation and policies.
  • Coordinate the calculation of service charge estimates and actuals every six months, providing valuable insights to stakeholders.
  • Support the development of your team members through informal training and job shadowing opportunities.
  • Assist the Team Leader with statutory returns, monthly reports, and variance analysis to ensure accuracy and compliance.

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience in a finance role within a housing association or private property provider.
  • Proficiency in Excel, including Vlookups, pivot tables, and expense code mapping, alongside a knack for process improvement.
  • (Ideally) Experience in budgeting, fixed costs, variable analysis, and accounts reconciliation.
  • A commitment to the moral compass of social housing, a desire to make a positive impact and ideally have an understanding or experience of service charge.
