Description
Providing legal advice and guidance on a range of legal issues:
- Housing - advising on a range of contentious and non contentious housing matters
- Litigation - preparing claim forms, particulars, statements, preparing bundles and conducting advocacy/instructing counsel when needed
- Contracts - drafting and negotiating a range of agreements and contracts
- Developing and implementing legal policies within the department
- Keeping abreast of changes in legislation
- Ensuring legal compliance across all operations
Profile
A successful General Counsel should have:
- A qualified Solicitor or equivalent
- 5+ PQE within housing, and litigation
- Able to conduct own advocacy
