Tradewind are recruiting! Are you a SEND teaching assistant looking for a new role in Rochdale?

I am currently recruiting for a reliable and calm SEN teaching assistant for a special needs school in Rochdale.

This is a full time, long term temporary role from September.

The Role

SEN Teaching Assistant

Five days a week 8.30 am to 3.30pm

Supporting secondary age students in a special school with a broad range of special education needs and disabilities.

The ideal candidate will

  • have a supportive, enthusiastic and flexible approach, as they will be working across different classes with different needs or working on a 1 to 1 basis .
  • Assist with the supervision, personal care, welfare and keeping safe of children and their environment.
  • Assist with resources and basic classroom management techniques to support their learning
  • To be committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young children and young people with Special Educational Needs.
  • demonstrate high levels of commitment to working with children and young people with SEND

While an experienced SEND teaching assistant is preferred, the school are happy to consider applications from primary, nursery or secondary teaching assistants with a desire to move into the SEND sector.

To join us and be successful in this SEND teaching assistant role, you will need to:

  • a minimum of six week's experience of working with children in the last 3 years supported by references
  • This position is subject to an Enhanced DBS Disclosure, Overseas Police Clearances (if applicable) and professional references checks
  • Provide a CV with a full employment/education history included and any employment breaks must be explained
  • Have the legal right to work full time in the UK
