Transition Team Leader

North Manchester

Full Time (35 hours Monday - Friday)

£23,840 - £26,500

Reed Further Education are currently recruiting for a dedicated team leader to work alongside the assistant principal in the transitions team.

The purpose of this role will be to ensure the department is working effectively with schools and local authority in meeting the needs of new students with SEND.

What we're looking for:

  • Speciality qualifications in special educational needs or willing to work towards
  • Level 2 English and Maths
  • Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP) in current organisation
  • Experience working with SEND environment, with knowledge of legislation
  • Detailed knowledge of the transition services within the context of secondary schools and further education

Reed Further Education is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff to share this commitment by undergoing a 2 year' employment check and a DBS Application, completing mandatory training within 6 weeks of your first assignment and annually thereafter.

Day to Day of the role;

  • Working with additional learning support and curriculum teams to provide guidance, support and coaching to improve the learning journey of learners with SEND
  • Liaise with schools, parents/carers, social workers, health care professionals and local authorities to ensure productive sharing of information for effective transitions to college
  • Line Manage the staff delivery team, including the day-to-day and performance management
  • Oversee compliance for IAG, recruitment, enrolment and on programme support for learners with SEND
