Safeguarding Manager

We are seeking a dedicated professional to lead our safeguarding services for a select group of member organisations, primarily National Governing Bodies in the sports sector, as part of the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) Safeguarding Plus service.

As the primary point of contact for safeguarding inquiries, the post-holder will provide expert guidance and manage their time efficiently to support the needs of each member organisation.

Our service offers administrative and policy support for all safeguarding matters, aligning to the Ann Craft Trust roadmap and child safeguarding standards.

Candidates should have substantial experience in safeguarding, with a background in the sports industry being highly desirable.

The Welsh Sports Association

The Welsh Sports Association (WSA) is the membership body for the sport and leisure industry in Wales, charged with the task of leading advocacy and developing resilience across the sector.

The WSA is mid-term through its Strategic Plan; 'Setting Sport up for Success' (2022-2025). One of our three Strategic Goals is to Develop as we aim to develop and improve our services to members and in doing so, we will help the WSA grow.

As part of this Strategic Goal, the WSA aims to deliver five Membership Plus offers by 2025 and has now launched its Safeguarding Plus offer, to become our fourth Membership Plus service.

The Safeguarding Manager is a key appointment for the WSA to provide excellent and consistent safeguarding services to those members who subscribe to the service.
