Your new company is an SME in the Blackburn area. Due to continued growth, they are looking for a Finance Manager to join the team on a permanent basis.
**Your new role
- Prepare, analyse and present monthly financial statements, including the P&L, balance sheet, management reports and cash flow statements.
- Have complete responsibility for the end-to-end month-end process.
- Manage budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis to optimise financial performance.
- Write insightful and accurate commentaries and explanations to accompany all reporting.
- Oversee accounts payable and receivable, ensuring timely processing and accurate record keeping.
- Ensure banks are reconciled and cash correctly managed across multiple accounts and entities.
- Multi-entity accounting and reporting, including group consolidations.
- By managing a small team you will be responsible for all transactions to trial balance (including aspects of payroll).
- Document, develop and enhance strong internal controls and implement procedures to safeguard financial assets.
- Develop systems and automation to reduce processing time, reduce error rates and speedier real time reporting.
- Business Partnering - work pro-actively and collaboratively with other operational managers and departments to provide financial insights, cost control and support strategic decision-making.
- Manage a small finance team.
- Stay up-to-date on industry trends and relevant accounting regulations.
**What you'll need to succeed
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in transactional finance and management accounting role, preferably within a service based industry.
- Fully qualified by ACA, CIMA or ACCA with a working understanding of accounting principles (GAAP) and financial reporting.
- Proficiency in accounting software and financial analysis tools.
- Team management experience.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Fast paced, adaptive and versatile working.
- Good written communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively across departments.
