Accounts Receivable Assistant

Location - Darlington

Contract - Temporary until end of November 2024 with strong possibility of extension

Salary - £13.13 Per Hour

Full Time - Hybrid role working onsite 2x days per week, 3x days from home

We are seeking an Accounts Receivable Assistant to temporarily support the team, for our client based in Darlington. In this role, you will interact with various departments via telephone and email, handling general administrative tasks as well. We are looking for detail-oriented, friendly communicators with 1-2 years of experience in a similar role and good knowledge of Excel.

Responsibilities

  • Engage with internal and external customers via telephone and email using standardised collection processes.
  • Prepare reports and information to show the progress and status of each customer.
  • Collaborate with Sales teams to resolve Accounts Receivable issues and build open, honest partnerships.
  • Work cross-functionally to identify and solve potential problems.
  • Participate in continual improvement projects related to Accounts Receivable processes as a key part of a multi-skilled team.

Qualifications

  • 5 GCSEs (A*-C grade including Maths and English) or NVQ Level 3 in Business Administration preferred (flexible)

Skills and Experience

  • 1 - 2 years of experience in a similar role is preferred
  • This is a hybrid role, requiring onsite work two days per week. However, flexibility is essential as there may be occasions when additional onsite presence is needed.
  • Experience in a client-focused role using telephone and email
  • Proficiency in MS Office, especially intermediate Excel skills
  • Warm, friendly, and professional demeanour
  • Strong communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Ability to prioritise work effectively
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Flexibility to cover additional responsibilities within the team
  • High standard of communication skills
