Job Description and Person Specification

Job Title: Learning and Development Advisor
Department: Human Resources
Reporting to: Talent and Development Manager
Location: Primarily based in Norwich, with travel to other offices as required
Working Hours: 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday (flexible working options available)
Level: 5

Main Purpose of the Role

To support the Talent and Development Manager in delivering a high-quality training and development service across the firm. This includes managing the firm's continuous professional development (CPD) initiatives, in-house training programmes, and overseeing all associated systems, processes, and procedures.

Key Responsibilities

Continuous Professional Development (CPD)

  • Support the delivery and monitoring of CPD activities to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Identify and promote relevant CPD opportunities for employees.
  • Maintain accurate records of CPD participation and outcomes.

In-House Training

  • Collaborate with the Talent and Development Manager, Training and Development Committee, and HR team to deliver impactful learning and development initiatives.
  • Conduct training needs analyses and recommend appropriate learning solutions.
  • Schedule and coordinate training courses and events.
  • Design, implement, and manage e-learning courses.
  • Source and manage relationships with external training providers to ensure quality and value.

Systems and Processes

  • Develop and maintain internal audit and evaluation processes for all learning programmes.
  • Gather and analyse feedback to drive continuous improvement.
  • Stay up to date with relevant legislation, regulatory requirements, and best practices in learning and development.

Additional Duties

  • Contribute to monthly board reports and other updates related to learning and development.
  • Undertake any other duties as required by the business.

Person Specification

Skills and Experience

  • Strong understanding of learning and development processes and initiatives.
  • Experience in designing e-learning content or willingness to train in e-learning authoring tools.
  • Confident in handling a wide range of L&D-related queries.
  • Excellent organisational and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong communication and presentation abilities.
  • Comfortable working with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Ability to analyse performance data to inform training strategies.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other digital tools.
