Finance Business Partner

Hays are working exclusively with a successful manufacturing business in South Norfolk to help the growth and restructure of their finance team. This company has over the past few years made various acquisitions and grown their client offering significantly. They are now seeking a commercially minded individual to join the finance team and help continue on an upward trajectory. Your new role
The role will report to a Financial Controller and be responsible for supporting the delivery of improved financial results by providing MI for leadership and by fostering cohesive and positive working relationships between finance and operations. You will work closely with the FC to ensure the financial integrity of reported results and forecasts. More specifically, this will include:

  • Implementation of standard costings, business wide to provide better transparency of operations and commercial activities.
  • Monitoring and improvement the quality of MI provided across the business to ensure a stronger understanding of business performance and therefore support commercial decision-making.
  • Analysing the group's performance against budget and help interpret results.
  • Supporting business planning and the delivery of those plans
  • Monthly stock reconciliations and calculations of stock provisions
  • Contribute to the annual, quarterly and monthly budgeting and planning process
  • Presenting financial reports to senior management with commentary and recommendations
  • Support the finance team in statutory requirements where needed.

This is a full-time role, working 37.5 hours a week between Monday and Friday. Hybrid working is available for this position on a 3/2 split.

What you'll need to succeed
You must have a solid understanding of monthly accounting principles and be able to communicate strongly with various internal stakeholders. You will have excellent IT and analytical skills, be able to manipulate and interrogate data and provide insight to senior management (both finance and non-finance staff). Ideally, you will be a qualified accountant or working towards your professional qualifications, but those qualified by experience will also be considered. Ideally, you will have worked in a manufacturing or production-based business before and be able to understand key concepts around product costings.
