Reed Education is looking for a dynamic and dedicated RE Teacher to join a secondary school in Lancaster. The role is to start immediately on a long-term basis. The ideal candidate will have a strong knowledge of the curriculum, effective communication skills, and a commitment to creating an engaging learning environment for students at KS3 and KS4 levels, with KS5 being an advantage.

Day-to-day of the role:

  • Delivering engaging RE lessons in line with the curriculum for KS3 and KS4, and potentially KS5.
  • Creating a positive learning environment that promotes student engagement and participation.
  • Utilising strong subject knowledge to inspire and educate students.
  • Implementing effective classroom management strategies to maintain a structured learning atmosphere.
  • Assessing and monitoring student progress and providing feedback to encourage development.
  • Collaborating with colleagues to share best practices and contribute to the school community.
  • Acting as a role model for students, demonstrating qualities of compassion, trustworthiness, and good listening skills.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

  • Must hold Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent.
  • Recent relevant experience teaching RE at KS3 and KS4, with KS5 being advantageous.
  • Excellent classroom practitioner with robust subject knowledge and classroom management skills.
  • Reliable, committed, and capable of working with students as a positive role model.
  • Good interpersonal skills, trustworthiness, punctuality, patience, and confidence when working with children.
