Programme Management Coordinator

The starting salary for this role £40,296 per annum based on working 36-hours per week. This role is offered as a fixed term contract until the end of October 2025 with the possibility of extension.

Are you an experienced and outcome focused Project Co-ordinator who has experience of working on large busy innovative change programmes? We are excited to be able to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Programme Co-ordinator to work on our Freedom to Travel Programme. You can expect to work flexibly, either working from home, with travel to various offices and locations in Surrey as required.

About the Role

The Freedom to Travel Programme is an ambitious and interesting cross directorate programme which aims to change how the council and partners plan, commission and deliver travel and transport services to residents in the medium to long term. This programme will enable a range of options so that Surrey residents who need our support can make the right journeys, in the right way, at the right time.

The work will span a number of directorates within the Council including Home to School Transport, Adults and Childrens Social Care, Environment and Transport, Greener Futures and IT. You will be part of the Freedom to Travel transformation team and work alongside members of the team to delivery the programme objective. The programme sits within our Design and Transformation service where you will have the opportunity to network, share and learn from other project and programme management professionals working across Surrey County Council.

We are looking for someone who is a self-starter, is organised, enthusiastic has excellent communication skills, and has experience of project and programme support and is looking for their next step. You will have the ability to work collaboratively as part of a small and motivated team to deliver this innovative change programme. You will bring experience and enthusiasm to this role.

Shortlisting Criteria

To be considered for shortlisting for this position, your application will clearly evidence the following:

  • Project management support experience
  • Exposure to a number of different project management methodologies
  • Excellent organisational skills
  • Attention to detail in completing project and programme documentation such as RAID logs, collating information relating to Risks and Benefits
  • Creation of presentations
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills
  • Ability to juggle multiple priorities and stakeholder requirements
  • Some Project management experience to support project managers within the team
