Posted by Step Resourcing.

Step Resourcing are recruiting for a SHEQ Director to join the client with a wealth of industry-related knowledge and experience behind them; namely from the construction industry but additional knowledge of telecoms and/ or fire protection would be advantageous.

Our client is a group of companies, with over 40 years' experience in the industry, working with big corporate clients down to individual home owners. Work ranges from Diamond Drilling and Sawing, stitch Drilling & Sawing and BROKK demolition to chasing, concrete polishing and floor preparation. They are therefore looking for someone who can ensure the company is protected from both the biggest to the smallest client.

In this newly created position, the SHEQ Director will take a hands-on approach, leading with optimism and determination. Overseeing an already existing team of 3 (a Senior Manager, a Manager and an Administrator), the newly appointed Director will be bridging any gaps to make the Health and Safety of this group absolutely water tight. My client values the expertise an individual with vast knowledge can bring to this role, by reviewing current systems and advising additional measures needed. We are looking for someone who can look for new and better ways to the ever-evolving regulations in Health and Safety, whilst also bearing in mind the environment and quality - crucial considerations for the business and the industry as a whole.

  • Chairing monthly SHEQ meetings.
  • Liaising with external bodies including Clients and other stakeholders.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree.

  • Membership of relevant professional body IOSH or equivalent.

Requirements:

  • Extensive experience in a senior SHEQ role.
  • Construction, telecoms and/ or fire protection background.

  • In-depth knowledge of risk and mitigation.
  • Proven leadership skills.

  • Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office applications including Excel, Outlook and Word.
