Senior Financial Modeller

We are looking for a to join our Financial Modeller team based at Westwood or Trinity House on a 12 month fixed term contract.

**Here's what you'll be doing

We are on the lookout for a talented Financial Modeller to enhance our team and support our continued growth and success. As a Financial Modeller, you will play a crucial role in developing, refining, and maintaining complex financial models that underpin our strategic decision-making processes. You will work closely with various departments to ensure our financial strategies are robust, data-driven, and aligned with our long-term goals.

In this role, you will be responsible for building sophisticated financial models to evaluate business scenarios and forecast future performance. You will conduct in-depth financial analysis to support investment decisions, budgeting, and financial planning. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to gather inputs and ensure accuracy in financial projections will be a key part of your duties. You will present findings and recommendations to senior management and stakeholders, translating complex financial data into actionable insights. Additionally, you will continuously improve financial modelling techniques and stay up-to-date with industry best practices.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance, accounting, or a related field, with proven experience in financial modelling and data analysis. Exceptional analytical skills and attention to detail are essential. Proficiency in financial software and advanced Excel skills are required. Excellent communication skills are necessary to explain complex financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders. A proactive approach to problem-solving and the ability to work independently as well as part of a team are also important.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Lead on development of financial models to support Investment cases for new products, acquisitions and similar activities.
  • Finance lead for a portfolio of strategic business cases supporting City Energy Solutions and Independent Connection Provider projects
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather and analyze financial data, identify trends, and provide insights to support business decisions.
  • Conduct scenario analysis and sensitivity testing to assess the impact of various financial variables.
  • Prepare and present financial information to senior management and other stakeholders.
  • Stay up-to-date with industry trends, best practices, and regulatory changes to ensure the accuracy and relevance of financial models.
  • Provide guidance and support to other team members on financial modelling techniques and best practices.

**What we need from you

  • Proven experience as a Financial Modeller or similar role, with knowledge of investment decision making, financing, accounting and tax considerations.
  • Strong business acumen and the ability to understand the broader implications of financial decisions.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel
  • Attention to detail and accuracy, with the ability to work under tight deadlines and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
  • Experience in the energy industry or a related field.
  • Exceptional relationship building and communication skills with the ability to influence and work effectively across external and internal stakeholders
  • An innovative approach, driving imaginative solutions to problems and capable of challenging conventional business thinking
  • Energy, drive, determination and enthusiasm and an ability to work to tight deadlines
  • Relevant Accounting or Economics post qualification experience
  • Be flexible to travel as needed
