A great opportunity has arisen for an experienced Site Supervisor or Foreman to join a business that installs industrial machinery in to highly complex and classified environments.

This is a new role that has been created due to the growth this company is experiencing.

They have a strong pipeline of projects upcoming ranging from £5m-15m over the next few years.

This role will require the successful candidate to attend customers sites across the UK.

Site crews can then range from a 2 person crew up to a 30 person crew.

In most situations you/your employer would be acting as principal contractor, therefore the management of other sub contractors on site will also fall under your remit.

The real selling points to this role are the variety of workscopes that this company handles. There will be cases where you will need to put your heads together and problem solve to understand how to deliver on a unique project.

But this brings a really exciting and challenging work environment.

Salary = £48,200 per annum + overtime (available when travelling/at customer site)

Car allowance = £5000 per anmum

Hours = 42 hours a week, Mon-Fri 8.5 hours a day

Office location = Derbyshire (near Shipley)

Duties include:

  • Ensure that all team members provide the necessary services and support that the Project Managers require
  • To provide control and coordination of the designated site, resource & personnel.
  • Forward planning of ‘Site' installation activities, labour, materials, equipment and contracted resource in conjunction with the Installations Management.
  • To Supervise and provide advice and guidance to the ‘Site' installations team.
  • To provide plans and working instructions ensuring site and product compliance with quality, Health Safety & Environmental standards and current legislations.
  • To provide a site interface between employer, Customers, suppliers, and sub-contractors with respect to ‘Installation' plans and progress. Ensuring plans yield least time and costs to meet customer and company requirements and specifications.
  • Oversee the activities of the designated ‘Site' installation team providing guidance, control and structure to the decision processes.
  • Ensure the resources available on site are managed to achieve the least cost option.
  • To oversee the ‘Site' installation phase of projects
  • Assist with the preparation of Method Statements, Risk Assessments, Crane plans, Health Safety & Environmental documents, etc to ensure compliance with current regulations and legislations.
  • Assist in site audits, inspections, surveys, pre-site visits and meetings for Installation aspects of all projects on behalf of the employer.
  • Identify and implement areas of improvement for Site working.

The ideal candidate for this role:

  • Must have previous site supervisor or management experience or foreman experience
  • You must be willing to be hands on and be on site managing the installation
  • Must have previous machinery installation experience
  • Has an appreciation of manufacturing and has managed installation projects within a manufacturing/engineering environment
  • Can understand technical drawings and specifications
  • Must be a driver due to site locations
  • Strong H&S competency
  • Has the ability and personality to represent the company well and manage customer expectations
