This Fire and Rescue Service in Nottinghamshire is seeking a dedicated individual to join their Occupational Health Department.

Occupational Health Support Officer Arnold, Nottingham, NG5 8PP

  • Full time, permanent
  • 37 hours (Monday - Friday)
  • Grade 4: £29,269 - £31,364

As an Occupational Health Support Officer you will be responsible for undertaking health checks and medical screenings of employees as well as participating in health promotion activities. You will be at the centre of ensuring that their employees remain healthy and ready to serve the communities of Nottinghamshire.

Key responsibilities:

  • Undertake basic health screenings and carry out health surveillance referring employees to other services where appropriate
  • Participate in health promotion activities
  • Maintain accurate employee medical records in line with applicable legislation or GDPR
  • Assist with general administrative work such as booking appointments and dealing with telephone queries
  • Undertake routine pre-employment health screening of potential employees

Experience / Qualifications:

  • Have a recognised occupational health technician qualification or have equivalent work experience within an occupational health environment.
  • Training in occupational health surveillance equipment and experience in conducting health assessments.
  • Experience in general administrative duties with the ability to work as part of a team as well as independently.
  • A strong level of IT skills, with specific working knowledge of databases and Microsoft Office packages.
  • Knowledge of good health and fitness practices with the ability to provide advice on how to maintain a healthy lifestyle.
