Freight Forwarding (Sea) - Hybrid Available, 3 days office, 2 days at home. Salary Negotiable

The Role:

  • Maintaining and developing your own client portfolio by proactively managing your allocated accounts, ensuring quality client deliverables are achieved and maximising potential for growth. Positioning the company as a trusted partner in order to achieve greater lock in with the client.
  • Promote and expand the company's commercial engagement by strategically planning client touchpoints and communication schedules.
  • Maintain quality data in CargoWise CRM relating to your allocated accounts in order to provide best-in-class service and visibility. This includes accountability for maintaining rate levels, client intelligence records and ensuring accuracy of client facing data.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Focusing on retaining, growing and developing existing clients, together with generating new business in line with KPI's.
  • Ensuring CargoWise CRM system is being used effectively to track, monitor, report and strategically plan business opportunities.
  • Setting and maintaining client rates in CargoWise, ensuring they are updated as required to avoid expiry.
  • Ensuring quality client deliverables are achieved and service levels met including accurate and legible control towers are sent
  • Maintaining client intelligence in CargoWise, maintaining up to date information and responding to changes such as client at risk.
  • Setting communication schedules and touchpoints for your accounts.
  • Play a key role in new business pitches and hold responsibility for the effective on-boarding of new clients.
  • Act as the key interface between the allocated customer and all relevant departments.
  • Resolve any issues and problems.
  • Proactively assess, clarify, and validate customer needs on an ongoing basis, ensuring we are consistently meeting or exceeding them.
  • Maintaining the revenue and gross profit of each account ensuring they remain profitable, proactively exhausting all additional revenue streams opportunities.
  • Monitor performance of commercial activities using key metrics and reporting.
  • Represent the company externally e.g. at networking events, conferences and exhibitions to enhance and strengthen the company's profile and optimise all business development opportunities.

The ideal candidate will be/have

  • Minimum 4 years previous in experience in a Key Account Management role within a freight forwarding company is essential
  • Previous operational experience across Ocean freight is essential
  • An excellent communicator both written and verbally
  • Strong negotiation skills with excellent presentation skills
  • Proven track record of winning new business from existing Accounts.
  • A solid understanding of customer supply chains and KPIs is desirable
  • Excellent Tech skills in order to confidently sell our digital supply chain management solution is essential
  • Excellent analytical skills with ability to conduct client data review and communicate to the customer the value of our offerings both strategically and financially
