An award winning house builder have a requirement for a Quality Inspector to join their team to drive quality and improvement throughout the sales and construction process to deliver high quality homes.

About the role - Quality Inspector

Reporting to the Head of Customer Care and working closely with the Construction Director, you will ensure that their homes meet the expectations of their customers demands. Your role will involve inspecting and verifying every detail from foundation through to final finishing touches to ensure homes meet their standards before legal completion along with maintaining their 5* HBF accreditation.

Duties and Responsibilities:

Duties will include benchmarking each home both externally and internally, ensuring customer expectations are met and certifying each home meets the company's 5* standards.

  • Manage your own diary to ensure homes are inspected in line with our robust quality checklist procedure.
  • Help to achieve legal completion in line with our forecasted completion dates
  • Conduct Home Ready Inspections and Ready for Occupation Inspections, prioritising developments whilst also maintaining strong working relationships with all sites
  • Updating COINS to ensure an accurate record is kept assisting the Customer journey
  • Engage with other stakeholders within the Business to ensure results of inspections are recorded and closed- down within the correct timeframes.
  • Visit and liaise with customers and site teams to ensure completion of agreed defects.
  • Attend development meetings and contractor meetings sharing best practises and working closely with all departments
  • Following up with contractors when recurring defects are highlighted
  • Complaint management
  • Along with the customer care team, manage the 2-4-6-8 process when developments come to an end
  • Ensuring compliance with the New Home Quality Code
  • Attend weekly build/sales meeting at Head Office
  • Prepare monthly report for inclusion in the Board report pack
  • Periodic training of Sales Executives and Site Managers

Skills and experience required for the Quality Inspector

  • Strong work ethic with the ability to work alone and as part of a team
  • Good time management and organisational skills
  • Project management skills
  • Attention to detail
  • Customer Care knowledge
  • Knowledge of NHBC, 5* standards, NHQC
  • Excellent Communication skills
  • Ability to liaise with Customers, Contractors and internal departments
