Are you an experienced engineer looking for a new challenge? We're looking for a Component Engineer to join our team. You'll play a crucial role, not just within the group but the wider business too, as people will seek your technical advice to ensure we deliver a comprehensive component service.

Job Title: Component Engineer

Salary: Circa £45,000 depending on experience

Location: Stevenage, Bolton (We may be able to offer a relocation package for this role)

Dynamic (hybrid) working: 2 days per week on-site due to workload classification

Security Clearance: British Citizen or a Dual UK national with British citizenship

Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. As a minimum and after offer stage, all successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS), which are managed by the MBDA Personnel Security Team.

The opportunity:

The growing workload within MBDA has created an exciting opportunity within the UK Component Engineering team for a committed and professional individual to train and develop into a highly skilled Component Engineer. You'll learn to select, vet and catalogue mechanical, electronic, electrical and electromechanical components used in all of our missile products.

You'll get to know in detail the latest products, technologies available in order to support the advice given our customers. To keep your knowledge up to date, there will be regular visits to relevant stakeholders and suppliers.

There is also the opportunity to support both local and international continuous improvement initiatives to help define best practice and manage the adoption and adherence of agreed methodologies across the teams on an international scale.

What we're looking for from you:

  • Demonstrable knowledge or experience in electrical, electro-mechanical products or electronic components.
  • Appreciation of REACH and RoHS regulations.
  • Strong communication skills both written and verbal.
  • Pro-activeness and self-motivation to improve self, improve process, and get the job done.
