As our Management Accountant you will be preparing, developing and analysing financial information in a timely and accurately manner, to allow the organisation to make well-informed decisions, all while adhering to the Accounting Manual and Company policies.
Responsibilities of our Management Accountant
- Responsibility for the Fixed Asset Register and the verification of assets across the UK sites (Pembridge, Selby, Glossop & Basildon)
- Ownership of the IFRS 16 Leased Asset Accounting ensuring Sharecontrol is accurate
- Continually reviewing Assets Under Construction and capitalising Assets
- Process the Disposal of Assets ensuring they have been approved accordingly
- Focus on the accuracy of forecasting Capex spend and Deprecation
- Working closely with key stakeholders to collate longer term Capex spend plans for the Budget and Strat Plan years
- Post-Acquisition Capex Project Reviews in accordance with the Accounting Manual
- Posting journals at month end including prepayments/accruals & provisions
- Allocation of Divisional Management & IT Recharges
- Provide cover for the Compliance Accountant with regards to business critical tasks such as: Balance Sheet Recs, Intercompany Balance Reconciliations, VAT, Inward Processing Relief (IPR), Plastic Packaging Tax.
- Performing checks and approving both vendor and payroll payments
- Creating Banks in SAP
- Vendor Confirmations
- Aiding the transition between Comshare/Tagetik
- Working with key stakeholders to provide timely and accurate information to assist with decision making
- Identifying and taking responsibility of areas which could be more efficient in order to give more time to more value added activities
- Liaising with internal and external audit when required
What we are looking for in our Management Accountant
You will have:
- An accounting qualification such as ACCA, CIMA and/or bachelor's degree, or working towards.
- Demonstrate ongoing professional development.
- Excellent Interpersonal skills
- Good literacy, numeracy and IT skills including MS Word and Excel.
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail.
Whilst not essential, the following would be of benefit:
- Experienced in the use of SAP
