What does the job entail?

On behalf of Warwickshire County Council, Pertemps Recruitment have an exciting opportunity for a Pastoral Support Worker to join their team. Supporting a child with an EHC plan for unstructured times throughout the school day in a secondary school (ie. Between lessons and at break times and lunch times).

You will achieve this by:

  • Working closely with the student to monitor their emotional and social well-being, providing guidance and support as needed.
  • Ensuring the safety and welfare of all students, adhering strictly to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Referring any safeguarding issues to the school's DSL immediately and record concerns on the relevant IT system.
  • Encourage the student to follow the school's behaviour code and handle behaviour incidents effectively, contributing to a positive school environment.

What are we looking for in the ideal candidate?

  • A recent DBS is essential due to the nature of the work
  • Has either had experience of working within primary/secondary school education or looking to start your career.
  • Be committed to the ethos and values of the school
