Senior DevOps Engineer (Image WebOps - Cloud Support - Automations)
- Annual Salary: £38,844 - £49,844 (plus Civil Service Pension with a contribution rate averaging 28%)

We are seeking a Senior DevOps Engineer to join our Digital and Technology directorate. The successful candidate will be instrumental in supporting and developing core imaging systems at Companies House, focusing on service availability, problem-solving, and root cause analysis. You will be part of a team-first culture, joining a diverse group of engineers to support and develop a range of internal and external services.
Day-to-day of the role:
- Maintenance, upgrades, automation, and service improvements of core imaging systems.
- Resolving ServiceNow Incident issues and conducting thorough root cause analysis.
- Contributing to the development and transformation of our digital services.
- Participating in an on-call rota to ensure continuous operational service.
Required Skills & Qualifications:
- Strong experience in incident/problem resolution and root cause analysis.
- Proficiency in coding, scripting, ad-hoc reporting, and data management.
- Experience with system software build and release, including automation of manual processes.
- Knowledge of performance monitoring, alerting, and tuning.
- Experience with Unix/Linux, particularly shell scripting, and log investigation.
- Familiarity with Informix DB, Oracle Tuxedo, SQL, and cloud infrastructure support.
- Proficiency in AWS, Terraform, Concourse, Ansible, GIT, or similar technologies.
- Ability to mentor and lead less experienced team members and engage in continuous improvement activities.
