Posted by Crossreach.

Working in the Counselling and Recovery team at CrossReach offers more than just a job; it provides the opportunity to join an innovative and compassionate team dedicated to transforming lives across Scotland. Our therapeutic services, which cater to individuals from infancy through to adulthood, make a significant difference every day.

Based in Glasgow City Centre, the Tom Allan Service provides one-to-one counselling for mental wellbeing and emotional support. Last year, with the support of a large team of dedicated professional counselling volunteers, we delivered over four thousand counselling sessions, supporting over 380 individuals and their families. As we look for new and innovative ways to sustain and develop our service it really is an exciting time to join our team.

Referrals come directly from clients and from health care professionals, as well as other Third Sector organisations. We also support businesses and educational institutions to meet their counselling and supervision needs and deliver a highly respected and popular COSCA Supervision course and Counsellor CPD training onsite.

As Counselling Manager you will take responsibility for the leadership and development of this diverse service. You will guide your team to deliver high-quality counselling/therapy and ensure that the highest professional standards, and the aims and objectives of CrossReach Counselling Services, are met.

Key responsibilities will include leading by example and providing the clinical and management supervision to your team. You will also ensure that the service maintains accurate records using approved systems and processes and managing your team's partnership with other professionals, especially in relation to holding and managing client risk. You will work to ensure that the team maintains, and is compliant with, relevant legislative, ethical policy and COSCA requirements, especially in relation to Child and Adult Safeguarding and Protection and Data Protection legislation. You will also carry a small caseload and manage the development & delivery of training opportunities within the service and ensure COSCA Service Recognition standards are met.

To be successful in this role, you will be experienced in leading a team, PSA/HPC registered and hold a Diploma in Counselling or other relevant qualification. Significant post qualifying practice hours and excellent computer literacy skills are also important. Ideally you will have previous experience of working in the Social Work, Health, Education or Voluntary Sector, have a ACTO approved online counselling qualification or evidence that you meet the BACP online competencies and a recognised qualification in Children and Young People Counselling or evidence that you meet the BACP/COSCA CYP competencies.

We also offer you a range of benefits that you would expect from an organisation that support others.

Firstly, there is access to a wide range of exclusive retail and leisure discounts through our rewards scheme and the Blue Light Discount card. We also ensure that your future and that of your loved ones is secured with a generous contributory pension plan and death in service benefit. Balancing work and family are made easier with our suite of enhanced family friendly policies and your health and wellness are prioritised with access to our health cash plan, giving you cash back for a wide range of health treatments. We even have access to a care concierge service to assist you with life's challenges, providing invaluable support when you need it most.

But we also know that your training and development is important to you, and as well as a contribution to your professional membership fees, we are keen to support you in making the right steps to learn, grow and develop in ways that are right for you.
