Friends of the Elderly (FotE) is a not-for-profit charity dedicated to providing excellent care with a family feel, we have been supporting older people for over 100 years. The charity provides care home and day care services for older people, as well as grants for older people in financial difficulty.

At the heart of the charity's Woking Central Office, the Receptionist / Administrator is the crucial first point of contact for members of the public and visitors, whilst also dealing with staff at all levels, volunteers, professional advisors, regulatory bodies, patrons and trustees.

You'll answer telephone calls and ensure that enquiries are dealt with in a helpful and efficient manner, taking and relaying accurate messages. You'll manage the reception inbox and ensure that all incoming mail is opened, sorted and distributed.

Whilst you'll be the 'face and voice' of Friends of the Elderly, this role extends beyond that of a traditional Receptionist to also providing administrative and secretarial support to the Executive Assistant to the Senior Leadership Team and Central Office colleagues across a range of departments and teams.You'll be part of a small but busy secretariat team, organising meetings and providing meeting support such as preparing and distributing papers, note taking and following up actions. You'll assist with booking seminars/webinars, arranging travel, accommodation and itineraries, and processing invoices and expenses. This is a truly varied role!

This is the perfect opportunity for a friendly yet professional individual who has proven experience in a secretarial / administrative role. You'll have excellent IT skills including Microsoft Word and Outlook at an advanced level and have a minimum of 50 wpm typing ability. With good oral and written communication skills, you'll have a high level of attention to detail and be able to work unsupervised as well as part of a small team.
